2026
The land of fire and ice did NOT disappoint. Though we went for the solar eclipse, we stayed for the unparalleled natural beauty, the puffins, and the reindeer. Hakarl and the lack of dragons eventually drove us home though.
2025
The land where “God’s chosen elixirs are distilled, barreled, and prepared for consumption”, paired with a nice Haggis.

2025
My first time in Korea and effectively my first time in Japan (since I was 8) made me feel the least East Asian I have ever felt despite being purebred East Asian. These were the most cyberpunk-coded days of my life.
France (gap year part 2)
2024, 2025

Austria
2025
A short stay at an underrated and overlooked country to kick off the new year. I only visited Salzburg because it is basically on the border with Germany. A return trip is a MUST.
2024, 2026
Munich, Frankfurt, Stuttgart: my travels through Deutschland have been limited to Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. And as a lover of good meat and beer, I could have chosen no two better regions.

2024
My Thanksgiving break while working in a country that doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving took me to the tiny and terrifyingly expensive country of Luxembourg. I spent most of my stay hiking the Mullerthall trail – which is free.
Belgium
2024
“Bruxelles je t’aime” – Angéle

2024
The first of my long-weekend voyages while working in France took me to the greatest city in history. I came listening to the Harry Potter soundtrack on loop and left thankful I wasn’t ran over crossing the street.
2024
My first time solo car camping was a fantastic experience! Beach, forest, wildlife, and oh I almost forgot the most emotional sunrise I ever watched.

Boston (gap year part 1)
2024
Ahh, good old Boston. I seem to always find my way back to my favorite US city. The objective(s) this time: help de-ice commercial airplanes, and try to blend in as a closet Laker fan in Celtics territory.
Fall 2023
One of those countries I would love to retreat to if I followed through with my occasional urge to off-grid. Beautiful fjords, basic cuisine, baffling prices.

A beautiful frozen landscape juxtaposed with hot thermal geysers, winter in Yellowstone was a combination of extremes to cap off an extreme year.
